Black-Friday
West Marine strives “to be the best outfitter of boating-related products and gear for recreation on the water that provide outstanding value to every customer.” As part of this goal, the retailer works to offer the best possible customer service and high-quality boating products and gear at affordable prices. At the same time, West Marine also takes steps to conserve marine resources, reduce its environmental impact, and promote boating. West Marine started as a store in Palo Alto, California in 1975 called West Coast Ropes. The location provided exceptional customer service and carried high-quality ropes and basic boating supplies. Over time, customers asked for a wider selection of products, and the company grew, changing its name to West Marine Products in 1977. The store expanded on the West Coast, before adding locations all around the country where customers could pick up the boating products they needed, at prices they could afford. These prices drop even lower during the holiday shopping season. West Marine offers a series of savings events, including pre-Black Friday, Black Friday, and Cyber Week sales that allow marine-minded shoppers to snag holiday gifts – for less.
In 2017, the 7-page West Marine Black Friday ad thrilled shoppers by announcing that its sale would run from Thanksgiving Day to Cyber Monday. The deals started online at midnight on Turkey Day, so shoppers could start snagging them before it was even time to put the turkey in the oven!
Among the deals in the Black Friday ad were the retailer’s lowest prices ever on four hot electronics for boaters. The West Marine ad also indicated that there were even more deals on its website. We can’t think of a better reason to do some online shopping!
Here’s a peek at some of the deals that shoppers picked up from West Marine in 2017 on the Biggest Shopping Day of the Year.
